MUMBAI, July 15 (Reuters) - India's Tata Capital TATC.NS has given an initial price guidance of U.S. Treasury plus 140 basis points for its U.S. dollar-denominated bonds maturing in three-and-a-half years, two merchant bankers aware of the matter said on Wednesday.
The non-banking financial company may look to raise between $400 million and $600 million through this issue, with pricing to be finalised before the end of this week, the bankers added.
The notes would be rated BBB by S&P, and BBB- by Fitch Ratings, in line with the issuer's own rating.
The bankers requested anonymity as they are not authorised to speak to the media. The company did not reply to a Reuters email seeking comment.
The proceeds from the bonds will be applied for onward lending and other activities, in accordance with extant External Commercial Borrowing (ECB) guidelines.
This would be the second-ever dollar debt issue by the company, which is part of the Tata Group conglomerate.
In January 2025, the company raised $400 million through its debut dollar debt issue with a similar maturity and a coupon of 5.3890%. The paper was sold at a spread of 92 bps over Treasury.
Over the last month, non-bank lender IIFL Finance raised $300 million through a four-year social bond, while non-bank lender Capri Global has also initiated its plans for a dollar debt sale.

MUMBAI, June 29 (Reuters) - India's Capri Global Capital CAPG.NS will become the latest entity to debut in the foreign currency debt market, with plans to raise funds through U.S. dollar denominated bonds, two merchant bankers said on Monday.
The non-banking finance company will aim to raise funds through bonds with a maturity of three years and three months and has lined up calls with investors on Tuesday.
The company should finalise the pricing on the issue before the end of this week, the bankers added.
The bankers requested anonymity as they are not authorised to speak to media. Capri Global Capital did not reply to a Reuters email seeking comment.
"The company may target around $300 million, but if the demand is strong, we could not rule out a benchmark size issue of $500 million," one of the bankers said.
In April, Capri Global Capital had raised five billion rupees ($53.03 million) through a public issue of debt.
Earlier this financial year, Managing Director Rajesh Sharma had said the company, which has assets under management of around 300 billion rupees ($3.18 billion), will look to increase the share of capital market borrowings on its books and will focus more on bond issuances this year.
Currently, capital markets comprise around 20% of the company's total borrowings, and Capri aims to raise that share to around 40%-50%, the MD had added.

Corrects headline, first paragraph in April 9 story to drop reference to the bond issue being the company's first public debt sale
By Dharamraj Dhutia
MUMBAI, April 9 (Reuters) - India's Capri Global Capital CAPG.NS is set to raise 5 billion rupees ($54.05 million) through a public bond issue, offering investors returns as high as 9.50%, according to a termsheet seen by Reuters.
The non-banking finance company plans to issue bonds with maturities of two, three, five and 10 years. For the three-year and five-year options, investors can also choose a monthly interest payout.
The company will offer annual coupon rates of 9.00% for two-year bonds, 9.15% for three-year bonds, 9.30% for five-year bonds, and 9.50% for 10-year bonds.
For those opting for monthly payouts, the rates are slightly lower: 8.80% for three-year bonds and 8.93% for five-year bonds, resulting in effective yields of 9.15% and 9.30%, respectively.
This issuance marks the first tranche of a larger plan, with Capri Global Capital aiming to raise 20 billion rupees through public issue of bonds, merchant bankers said.
The bonds have received an AA rating from Acuite Ratings and Infomerics Valuation, and are scheduled to open for subscription on April 15.
In the broader market, Indian companies raised approximately 107 billion rupees through public debt issues in the previous financial year, up from 81.5 billion rupees in fiscal 2025.
