Kothari Industrial Corporation proposed two memoranda of understanding with Guidance, Government of Tamil Nadu, for projects in the state. One concerned a design university and upskilling project for existing technical personnel in Hosur, to be pursued through Kothari Industrial IUAD Design in collaboration with Accademia IUAD, with investment of about ₹50 crore over five years and 150 direct and 100 indirect jobs. The other concerned a non-leather footwear factory in Lamanathapuram district through associate Phoenix Kothari Footwear, with planned investment of about ₹1,000 crore over seven years and 8,500 direct and 1,500 indirect jobs. Both proposed agreements were subject to applicable laws, statutory approvals and eligibility under government policies. The university project followed the July incorporation of Kothari Industrial IUAD Design as a 51%-owned joint venture with Accademia IUAD. Footwear accounted for 56% of Kothari Industrial's FY26 revenue, while Phoenix Kothari Footwear recorded a ₹40.99 crore loss for the year.

Vision 2030 Plan

Kothari Industrial Corporation has unveiled a comprehensive Vision 2030 strategy encompassing agriculture technology, drone manufacturing, footwear production, and food services, the company announced on Saturday. The plan includes a joint venture with Taiwan's Evervan Shoe Town Group to manufacture footwear for Crocs and Adidas at two factories in Tamil Nadu, with a combined capacity of nearly 80 million pairs annually. KICL also holds a 30-year licence for the Kickers brand across nine countries and has acquired the Zodiz and Jeetlo footwear brands available through more than 2,500 retail outlets. In agriculture, the company is developing a farmer identity-linked precision agriculture platform and exploring international partnerships for fertilizer sourcing in Qatar and Algeria. Its drone division has secured mapping contracts with the National Highways Authority of India, the Kerala government, and the Chennai police, and is pursuing indigenous drone manufacturing through DGCA certification.
