Lux Industries' board approved a ₹600 crore expansion of its Dankuni, West Bengal manufacturing facility on Friday. The project envisages ₹450 crore of fresh capital expenditure and will add 12 lakh square feet of built-up area, lifting total capacity to 18–20 crore pieces annually. Once complete, the unit is expected to become one of Asia's largest garment manufacturing sites. The expansion will be funded through internal accruals and debt and is projected to generate incremental annual revenue of ₹900–1,000 crore with a payback period of about five years. It will also create 3,000 direct and 6,000 indirect jobs in the state.
