The Supreme Court of India froze the bank accounts of Parsvnath Developers Ltd and its subsidiary Parsvnath Hessa Developers Pvt Ltd while hearing a writ petition filed by homebuyers of the Parsvnath Exotica project in Gurugram. The order, dated 13 July 2026, also stayed any creation of third-party rights or delivery of possession involving immovable assets of the two companies, and directed issuance of bailable warrants against their directors and officers to secure their presence on 20 July 2026. The court acted after noting that the homebuyers, who paid substantial amounts almost two decades ago, had been denied both possession and compensation despite final orders from the Haryana Real Estate Regulatory Authority. HRERA had ordered the builders to pay interest at 9.3% per annum for the delay, but the directions remained unexecuted. The Supreme Court observed that the builders displayed a brazen disregard for HRERA’s authority and that state authorities were either colluding or failing in their duties. The matter will be heard next on 20 July 2026.
