Texmaco Rail & Engineering received a USD 135 million Letter of Award from Tsiko Africa Logistics and Barberry Holdings for the design, manufacture, supply and commissioning of Wabtec ES43ACi 4,500-horsepower diesel-electric locomotives. The international award was to be executed within 20 to 24 months after the signing of a definitive agreement. The company had described its South African rail programme as involving roughly ₹4,000 crore of 2,200 wagons, 30 locomotives and 15 years of maintenance. Its order book stood at ₹9,923 crore in June 2026, with private and export freight-car work accounting for 96.4%.
